Kalon Hoard serves as Holland Financial's Chief Investment Officer, and is responsible for the company’s day-to-day operations.
Mr. Hoard grew up in the small town of Bronson, Michigan. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Trine University, Angola, Indiana. In 1990, Kalon moved from Indiana to Florida, when he accepted a job with a local defense contractor.
In 2000, he decided to make a career change to financial services and investment management.
While working for MetLife, he was introduced to David Holland by his parents, who were clients of Holland Financial . And, as they say, “the rest is history.” After 20 years of outstanding service, Kalon Hoard is Holland Financial’s longest term employee and also serves as president.
Since entering the financial services field, Kalon has earned three professional designations: CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner, Accredited Wealth Management Advisor®, and Accredited Asset Management Specialist®. He holds the Florida Life, Health, and Variable Annuity insurance license, and has completed the FINRA series 6, 7, and 26 security exams.
Kalon and his wife, Laura, live in DeLand, where Laura is an elementary school teacher. The couple has two college-aged children, Aaron and Maura. In Kalon's spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family in Florida and his extended family in Michigan. He also likes to travel, read, and work out at the gym.
